Twitter GIF Downloader: What to Know
Why GIFs on X are different, and what you get.
This Twitter GIF downloader gets around a quirk of X: its GIFs are not really GIF files. X turns every GIF into a short, silent video clip, so if you save it another way you usually end up with an MP4 that won't work as a GIF. This tool converts it back into a proper .gif file.
It is free and watermark free, with no limit on how many GIFs you save.
GIFs are converted in seconds, ready to share straight away.
The GIF loops just as it does on X and works where GIFs are expected: in chats, emails, slides, forums and messaging apps. If a post holds several media items, each one is listed and you pick the GIF.
Reaction GIFs, memes and short animations are the most common use. Only GIFs from public posts can be saved.
For normal videos with sound, use the Twitter Video Downloader.
